March’s Fairyloot Unboxing

This is the second anniversary box from Fairyloot, and to say that I was excited was an understatement. Over the past few months there has been some really good boxes from fairyloot, so I was interested to see what would be included in their special anniversary box. The theme Memorable Moments didnt give too much away, and for the first time in a while I couldn’t even guess what book would be included in this box.

Unboxing

The first item included in this box was this Cork Bunting made by Paladone. This item has never been featured in a Fairyloot box before and I think its a unique item that all book lovers would use. This item is definitely thinking outside the box and I have never seen something like this included in any book subscription box. I hope that Fairyloot continue to bring us items like this.

The second item was this Exclusive Rune Ceremony Scarf made by FictionTea Designs. The last time we had a scarf in a Fairyloot box was in the last anniversary box, so it was kind of fitting to have another one in this box as well. I really like the design and the feel of this scarf, and I can see myself using this scarf in many bookstagram photos.

Also in this box was an Exclusive Goblet of Fire Candle made by Paper Falmes Candle Co. As soon as I opened the lid I could smell the chocolate scent. The wonderful blue swirls in the candle are so pretty to look at, I am a little worried to start burning the candle just incase it ruins the design.

There was also an Exclusive Bilbo’s Birthday Cake Soap made by Geeky Clean, included in this box. Never seem to get many Lord of the Rings or Hobbit items in book subscription boxes, so it was nice to get this item. I have given the soap a quick sniff and it smells exactly like Vanilla and strawberry cake.

The last bookish item in this box was this Toast To The Warden of The North Hot Chocolate made by Eponine. This is the second time hot chocolate has been featured in a Fairyloot box, and the first one I wasn’t too keen on, hopefully I will enjoy this one a little bit more.

This months book was State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury. I have not read this book yet, even though I have a copy of it. The synopsis does sound interesting and I have heard some really positives reviews about it, so I cannot wait to start reading it. This is an exclusive hardback edition of the book, because the standard edition is just in paperback. Also included with the book was a signed bookplate and letter from the author.

Overall Thoughts

With this being the second anniversary box I had very high expectations, and if I honest I think my expectations were a little unrealistic. I am not say thing I am disappointed with this box because I’m not, I really like all the items included. I was just expecting something more. I think because Fairyloot has had some really strong boxes over the past year, I thought this months box would be the best of the best, but I found it to be just like any other normal box. As I said I love all the items included and I really liked how there were items included from new companies and items that have never been featured in a box before. But I think my hopes and expectations were a little too high, and thats why I found this box to be just okay. Hopefully I will like next months box a little more.

If you are thinking to subscribing to FairyLoot then I would suggest signing up to their Newsletter and they will get in contact with you with new themes and the date for when the boxes become available to order.

Fairyloot

I have already subscribed to the next box, which has the theme of Whimsical Journeys. I am excited to see what items they have planned to featured in the box because I love the theme title and the suppliers that have been revealed looks like its going to be a great box.

  1. I don’t personally buy bookish boxes, but if I was going to it’d probably be FairyLoot. State of Sorrow is SUCH a good book, I recently read it and was highly impressed so I hope you are too 😀
